A Cropping Table
A cropping table with woollen cloth spread out ready for cropping. The tool with the teasels was used to raise the nap of the cloth, and then the weighted down metal blade (the shears) would be worked across the cloth to shave the surface smooth. The little bits of wool would then be swept away using the hand brush. Cropping was a skilled job and was outsourced to a cropping mill.
