Crowd Gathered to Watch Alice Scatcherd Lay the Morley Adult School Foundation Stone

This photograph was taken on 24th April 1894. The crowd at the laying of the foundation stone of Morley Friends' Adult School at the junction of Charles Street, Ackroyd Street and Cross Peel Street in Leeds. The platform contains notable figures in the Adult School Movement, members of the local Adult School Group and people prominent in Morley's town affairs. The memorial stone was laid by Mrs. Alice Cliff Scatcherd.
