Egyptian Shabti: Ipi's Story

This audio story is inspired by actual historical events. Drawing on what is known about Ancient Egypt, we have imagined some of the people who might have lived and worked in the Valley of the Kings in the days after the death of Pharaoh Seti I, to tell the story of a real-life artefact – a shabti figurine.

This story is one of four (2 x audio and 2 x video), that follows the shabti’s journey from the craftsmen’s workshops of Deir El Medina over three thousand years ago, to display at Leeds City Museum today.
