Morley Hall, Leeds
Morley Hall, Morley near Leeds, at a time before it was bought for the town by Sir Charles Scarth in 1917. Whether or not the photograph was taken before the deaths of its last two private residents, Oliver Scatcherd in 1905 and his widow Alice Cliff Scatcherd in 1906 is not known. Neither is how the hall was used between Alice's death and the installation of Morley's Belgian refugees in 1914-15.
